Our sites are on the left side of Park when heading east.
When: Friday November 6, 2015-Sunday, November 8, 2015
Registration: Email me at email@example.com if you plan to attend and I can collect fees at October meeting. We will also try and get a link up for online registration as well.
Medical Forms: You should have filled out a medical form at registration for your Scout. However, please be advised that we will need a form for each family member who will be camping along with a copy of the insurance card.
Who May Attend: The camping trip is for Cub Scouts and their immediate families (siblings are allowed and encouraged to attend). Pack 266 adheres strictly to the BSA’s national Youth Protection Policy which requires that only parents and legal guardians can stay in tents with children in their immediate families. Any exceptions must be specifically approved by our Cubmaster, Sean Butler.
Cost: $25.00 per family. There will be an additional charge of approx. $4.00 per adult ( per day ) when arriving at the park.
Activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, biking and fishing. The Lake is easily accessible to our site by short bike/car ride. The park has an onsite convenience store. They also sell bundles of firewood and ice if needed.
The Pack has reserved 20 (8) person sites for the campout. Each site has water, a fire ring and picnic tables. We will generally organize the dens on these sites by rank and you will receive your site assignment upon arrival at the campsite. All Ranks can attend the campout on both nights.
The Nature Center houses exhibits pertaining to the ecosystems in the park.
We will have a scavenger hunt planned for Saturday 1pm-3pm on the Island Hiking trail. Lots of fun and the Pack will have a station set up for the boys to make trail mix for their hunt.
Meals: The Dens will be responsible for all their own meal preparations. I suggest you maybe pair up with ranks and work on meals together.
Camping Gear: All families will need their own camping gear. There is a good list of necessary items on the Pack 266 website, so take a look especially if you are new to camping. If you have any questions, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additional Helpful Info Below:
Our site will most likely be in left hand section between 110- and 143. When coming across Causeway (hwy 190) as soon as you cross entrance will be to your right.
Island Trail is where the Scanvenger Hunt will be.
You can subscribe to a general mailing list to receive information from Pack 266. If your scout is active and integrated into a den, you probably do not need to subscribe to this list.
